- Verification data: one-time passwords (OTP) sent via SMS to verify your phone.
- Listings & content: the listings, photos, videos, reviews, and messages you create.
- Device information: device push notification tokens and basic technical data needed to deliver notifications and operate the app.
- Usage data: interactions such as listing views and favorites, used to improve the service.
2. How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and verify your phone number.
- To publish your listings and enable buyers and sellers to connect.
- To deliver in-app chat and push notifications (for example, new messages or promotion alerts).
- To process optional paid promotions through our payment partner.
- To prevent fraud, enforce our Terms, and keep the marketplace safe.
- To improve and develop the service.
3. SMS & OTP
We use your phone number to send a one-time verification code via SMS. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply. We do not use your number for unsolicited marketing.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate Gawdary:
- With other users: your public profile name, listings, and messages you send are visible to relevant users.
- Service providers: SMS/OTP providers, push notification services, and our payment partner (Wayl), strictly to provide their services.
- Legal compliance: when required by Iraqi law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the platform.
5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data.

7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
Gawdary is intended for users aged 18 and older and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or website, and the "Last updated" date above will be revised.
